Pediatrician visit

We took Jack in to meet his new pediatrician today, Dr. Gruszka. He's doing well, and has maintained his small loss of 2 oz. from his birth weight of 6 lb., 2 oz. He's holding steady at 6 pounds, which is great considering he's so small! They expect babies to lose up to 10% of their birth weight, but we were hoping that Jack wouldn't lose that much. Way to go, peanut!

Aunt Lori and Uncle Bill come to visit

Aunt Lori and Uncle Bill stopped by on a visit from Colorado to meet Jack.

Hangin' with Jack

Jack's fitting right in here at chez Fuller. Here he is hanging out with the P's. Wait, are we really the P's now? That's so weird.

Falconers visit Jack

Lisa, Andrew, and baby Ben came to visit Jack and brought a scrumptious dinner, including a "Banana Awesome" cake from Bittersweet, as Andrew termed it. We've really enjoyed watching Ben grow on his site, Firedogfalconer, and it's been the main inspiration for us starting this blog for Jack.

Ben scooted about on the floor (Lisa jokes that she wants to make him a suit of Swiffer cloths) and was generally his cute self. It was also so reassuring to know we'd joined the parenthood club when Lisa and Andrew said to us "so, is it just us or is this parenting thing really hard?". Yes, yes it is, though it's definitely worth it. Thanks for welcoming us to the club, guys (and for din din!)

Visiting Taylor

One of John's best friends, Brad, and his wife, Suzanne, had a baby just two days after we did. Their second daughter, Taylor, was also almost Jack's size; she was six pounds and 19 inches. So we had to get the little peanuts together and take pictures while they're still small! Taylor is beautiful, and Mason is such a proud big sister. Jack and Taylor will be in daycare together at the end of the summer, and we hope they'll be good friends. Welcome, Taylor!

Bath II-The Revenge!

Now that Jack's bellybutton is all in order, he can have a proper bath with actual water. He seemed to enjoy it even less than the sponge bath.

Grandpa Rick Visits

My dad, Grandpa Rick, had yet to see Jack, so he came in for a visit. Grandpa got to hold Jack, and threatened to take him to a bookstore. We gave Jack a bath and then dressed him in the semi-ridiculous outfit you see here and all went to Wishbone for a late brunch. Afterwards, because Jack was still sleeping, we dragged him through several homestores looking for curtain rings. Rings in hand, Grandpa helped Daddy put up the curtain rods and curtains so we can get a bit of privacy again in our living room. Jack enjoyed meeting Grandpa Rick, and looks forward to many books being read to him!

Visiting Auntie Kate

One of my oldest and dearest friends, Kate, has recently moved from Nashville (Nashvegas!) to Chicago, and we couldn't be more thrilled. Jack and I went to visit her and check out her new digs. She and the girls (her boxers, Olive and Grace) are living the good life in Bucktown in a very cool old storefront apartment. We had lunch and a quick catch up before I took Jack down to work to meet the folks there. We're looking forward to a lot more quality time with Auntie Kate now that she is back above the Mason-Dixon line!

Flamin' Pants!

So I went a little crazy with the pictures, but I couldn't help it. I love Jack's new Babylegs. He has four pairs, three of which are nice and cute and babyish, and the fourth are these hot numbers. I think I'll get him the Jolly Roger ones as well. I'm here to testify that these are a genius invention-you can change diapers around them, they keep Jack warm in the AC, and they're cute to boot. Yay, Babylegs! John sings the theme song to "Fame" to Jack whenever he wears them.
