OK, So Going Back to Work is Kicking our Butts

Week 15 Update

Here it is the beginning of October and we just realized that we essentially missed all of September for posting. The number of pictures taken has also dropped sharply. I attribute this all to going back to work, and the fact that we've been suffering from a host of plagues in September. September, usually I love you (last year I loved you so much I got pregnant) but this year I was happy to see the backside of you.

Is there a weekly equivalent to "Annus Horribilus?"

Week 17 Update

We came home from Rockford feeling good...great even. John had a new digital video camera, Jack had Twilight Turtle, we got shakes and cheese fries at Beef-a-Roo. What could possibly go wrong?

Flu II: The Revenge, shots, and BEARS WEDDING

Week 18 Update

When last we left our story, we were on the mend from two, possibly three different illnesses...or were we?

Mimicking Jack

Mimicking Jack from The Fullers on Vimeo.

Becky is playing with jack by mimicking the sounds that he makes to get a reaction out of him. Every so often he seems to notice what she's doing and then he giggles at her.

Nap Skipper

Nap Skipper from The Fullers on Vimeo.

When we picked up Jack from daycare today the ladies told me that he had refused to take a nap today and instead decided to dedicate some extra effort to his crying. Also, I'm told that he is teething; his hand is constantly going into his mouth, he's more fussy than usual and he's drooling a lot. And all along I thought that's what being a baby was all about! So far though, I can't find any evidence of any teeth in his mouth about to sprout. Just the usual coy gummy smiles. Teething or not, all of this makes for an exhausting day for a little guy, so when we got him home and put him into his high chair for us to have dinner, it didn't take long for the lack of sleep to catch up with him.

We got a cool new highchair for Jack so that he can sit up at the table with us for meals. He's not eating any solids just yet, but maybe this will get him thinking about it. Here's a video of him in his new highchair's maiden voyage.

Cold: the final illness

Week 19 Update

And then there was the final illness in four weeks of illness. But there was light at the end of the tunnel...

Happy First Birthday, Firedog!

Jacky had a great time attending his first birthday party for Ben. Firedog turns one! Yay! Ben's Dol was superfun and Banana Awesome cake was great too. Jacky got to hang with Ben's grandmas, Grandma B and Halmoni...it was extra-grandma fun. Plus there were other pretty ladies to flirt with besides just the grandmas, an awesome homemade Korean feast made by Mrs. Graf (aka Halmoni), and lots of kids! So fun to see everyone. Nana's 60th birthday!

Week 20 Update
It's a lot of birthday action here in October! At the end of Jack's 20th week, we went to Rockford to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday. My parents were supposed to be on a diving holiday in Bonaire but my mom's injury sidelined her from diving for a while, so they canceled. This meant we got to spend time with her for her 60th! We drove to Rockford on Saturday. John and Rich ran errands on Saturday afternoon, sneaking in a beer while they waited for watch batteries, and Jack, my mom and I relaxed at the house.

Saturday afternoon we took Jack to see my dad; it had been nearly four months since he'd seen him and he was so pleased to see him!

Sunday morning we got up early and made the annual pilgrimage for cider donuts, cider, and apples at Edward's Apple Orchard. We would say that Jack enjoyed the apple orchard, if you count sleeping through the entire trip as enjoying it. Then it was time for presents, birthday lunch, family viewing of the Bears game, and cake! We were so glad to be able to celebrate Nana's big birthday with her!

Congratulations, Claudia and Dan!

Welcome to Xanthe Marina Zoe, our friends' Claudia and Dan's new daughter. She was born on October 6th and is just lovely. We can't wait to meet her sometime, though that does mean one of us traveling with an infant as they live in London. We are so pleased that Jack (and the boys, Liam and Karthik) have a new English girlfriend! Congratulations again, Claudia and Dan!

Week 21 Update

We got Jack some new toys to play with. In the first part of this video, Jack tests out his new jumperoo, and in the second half, he has a lot to say about his Learn & Groove exersaucer.
